About Led
A lighting-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits incoherent narrow-spectrum light when electrically biased in the forward direction of p-n junction. The color of the emitted light depends on the composition and condition of the semiconducting material used, and can be infrared, visible, or near-ultraviolet.
LED is the abbreviation of "Light Emitting Diode". For LED Lighting, we also call it Solid-State Lighting (SSL) LEDs, which are environment-friendly, power-saving and long-lasting, have caused a revolution in illumination in the 21st. century. LEDs are a kind of compound semiconductor using III-V (GaAs, AlGaInP, Gan, AlN ...) or II-VI (ZnSe, ZnO ...) as light emitting materials. With the advantages of: small size, low power consumption, long-lasting and color purity, LEDs have been applied quickly in all kinds of fesibilities in our daily lives.
The emitted light can be visible and invisible.
The visible LEDs are normally used for indication. We sepreate it into High Brightness (HB) and general brightness by 1 Cd. HB LEDs and High Power LEDs are commonly used for display and lighting. General brightness LEDs are normally used for CHMSLs, signages, traffic signs, backling of keypad, LCD, and so on.
Invisible LEDs are applied for CCTVs, Remote Controllers, Switch Power Suppliers, Sensors... and so on.
